The Mother-in-law has been with us for the last week and a half helping Charity with Gabrielle and Noah. While she has been with us, she has completely washed and ironed my whole closet of clothes. I feel like a new man. Also, she helped wash my car, inside and outside. It looks great. But I have noticed that since these improvements have taken place, I am more motivated to hang up my clothes and keep the car clean. Now that order has come to chaos, I am inspired to maintain that status. This is life in general. Chaos begets chaos because when order falls apart, it is certainly easier to allow it to continue in the wrong direction. This applies to sin, church, appearance, and you name it, it applies. We are moving always in two directions, improvement or disarray. As we improve, it becomes easier, as we sink, it becomes easier. Sometimes you need a big clean-up to set your life in order again. We like to use the word “repentance.”
