Musings on Spiritual Matters

by Matthew Morine

Are You Learning?

A minister can stop learning quickly.  There could be some to little schooling involved.  You could have attended university, but once the classes ended, you quit studying.  Some ministers quit writing new lessons.  Some ministers will attend lectureships.  Sometimes these are good, other times these are a waste of time.  Listening to someone who has no clue on a topic will not allow you to have a clue.  A minister must be intentional about making sure he is being trained to do the work.  How do you know you are a learner?

1. What have you done to further your education this year.  Did you go to a conference or purposefully read a book or two about a topic that was difficult.

2. Who do you talk to for advice.  Is this person trained for this issue?

3. Have you gone somewhere to do some intentional study?
