Back From Nova Scotia, To the Mountains

ed-viesturs-standing-tall-on-everest-summitThe trip to Nova Scotia was wonderful.  My brother was married off and it was a wonderful time preaching for the Kentville Church of Christ.  After all of the activities, we had a chance to relax on the lake.  We did a lot of boating and swimming, and even a little tubing.  It was great seeing all of my family, even some that I rarely see.  I even got a chance to see one of my best friends in Nova Scotia, Jimmy.  Mostly, I never go see old friends, just because of the time and typically I want to spend all of my time with my family.  My visits to NS are so short and far between that I focus on seeing those that I love the most like my grandparents.  But Jimmy was working in a field and we drove by and I stopped.  It was great to see him again.  We ate a ton of lobster, we got it for five dollars a pound.  It was a better deal than a happy meal.  Really, I accomplished all that I sat my mind on like eating timbits, drinking tim’s coffee, and eating seafood patters and visiting my grandparents, preaching and doing the wedding for brother.  It was great to spend time with him and his wife too.  My parents are always so happy to have everyone together, it was great to see them on their turf.

Now I am off again, we are meeting some people from Alabama to hike some 14ers.  In fact, 4 in 3 days.  This is going to be really hard and I hope my body can hold up to this pounding.  We are going camping for a long time in the woods.  I got some of my best teens coming with me.  The Viper, the Birdman, and the Big Boss are going to play.  Yes, these are the nicknames for the teens, you all get a nickname when you hike with me.  These are our identities for these hikes.  This is going to be a epic adventure.  Please pray for us, we are doing some really dangerous hikes this time.
