Churches Are GREAT

http://avslaw.com/images/churches.jpgJohnny Ramsay would state that “the brethren treated him wonderfully.”  He would also state that some brethren did not, but compared to the brethren that did do everything possible to support and encourage his ministry, the non-sayers meant little in his life.  The problem is that those who are the negative voices of pain in the church can equal ten great Christian people.  The old rule is that one peice of critisism can undo ten peices of praise.  Churches and members run by the same laws.  But looking back in my life, I am impressed by the love that has been shown to me.  Little me from Canada with no background in the church, and the church surrounded me with love back then as it does today.  I remember being at Granbury Street in Cleburne, TX.  Talk about a church that met the preacher’s needs.  I had to be careful about what I asked for because it would be there the next week.  I ate lunch with one of the elders and his family every Sunday.  Made me feel like a king in his court.  I worked down in Camp Wood, TX for a summer and felt like the biggest hero minister in the world because I loved their kids.  I was at Hartsville Pike this week and the people just loved on me so much.  There are so many amazing people in that congregation.  Waynesboro was amazing.  Those people fell all over themselves to love my family.  The church people had more gifts for my kids than I did.  And let me never forget my amazing neighbors.  Castle Rock is continuing the tradition.  A elder asked me if he needed to teach my class on Wednesday if I needed more of a break from the services of Burnice.  First class, also I really have to watch my eating because people always take me out for lunch.  My wife feels loved as well and we are on a soccer team with the community neighbors and church members.  Exciting.  Yes, I have been mistreated at some points in my ministry, but oh how I have been loved.  I have been a servant but loved like a king.  Thank you churches of Christ for loving me.

Yes, Praise be to God for a body of believers that allow us to minister to them and knowing all the time we receive the greater service from them. As many say, “God is good.”
