Musings on Spiritual Matters

Crazy Wild Fires in Colorado

It seems like something out of a movie.  A huge forest fire goes out of control and burns down a town.  The images are scary.  Houses are burning down, iconic centers are being destroyed, and no relief seems to be in sight.  This is the story that is happening in Colorado Springs, and in some other areas in this state, just not as bad.  There are three major fires close to people burning right now, but the worst one is in the Springs.  At Castle Rock, we are having a special prayer service tonight, and we are looking for ways to help in this terrible time.  The sky is filled with smoke.  Everyone who is part of the Castle Rock congregation is safe, but a few homes are in harms way.  There are reports that a few church members have lost homes in this fire.  All of the fire resources are being used, and it seems to be a huge fight.  But if you do not know Colorado, when the winds pick up the firefighters have to retreat.  The fire has passed some of the boundaries that were created to contain it.  The images coming out of the Springs looks like hell on earth.  So if you are a congregation, please be praying for us here in Colorado.  Please have some time of special prayer for those who are being effected by these wild fires.  Thank you so much, and I will try to continue to keep people updated on what is happening.
