Musings on Spiritual Matters

Fantasy Season Again

I love fantasy sports.  I play fantasy hockey and football each year.  This is one of my favorite activities, and most years I gain some new virtual trophies for the virtual trophy case on Yahoo.  Last year I died in fantasy football, which church members still tease me about, but I did come in first in one of my leagues, and in hockey I got 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, out of four leagues.  As a Canadian, I am much better at fantasy hockey, but I know this is the year I will be coming on in football.  I enjoy the relationships that I have through these activities.  Of course there is a ton of trash talk, which seems to stop early for me because I do so poorly, but on the bright side, I do not brag like my friend up the road about his one trophy he proudly displays in his preacher’s office.  But I guess it is fine, he only has one trophy, unlike my two pages of trophies in the virtual case.  Anyway, I am preparing again for the big draft and another fun year.
