Hike to Long’s Peak

LongsPeakKeyhole2This past Thursday or probably I should say Wednesday night and Thursday, a team from the congregation hiked Long’s Peak.  This is probably the most famous mountain in Colorado.  It was certainly a busy one, there was a ton of people on the trail.  Mostly this is not the case with some of the harder mountains.  This trip was 15 miles, we took a wrong trail which added some extra distance to the climb.  It was a class 3 trail which means that you can die on it and people do all the time.  I believe more people have died on Long’s than any other mountain in Colorado.  This was a awesome trip.  Everyone did great.  I am really sore today, super sore, but I made it to the summit.  The view of the mountain was amazing too.  It is so rough.  So far, I have hiked 19 fourteens, and by far this was the most difficult.  Hopefully, I will hit a couple more this year and pack in the hiking boots for the winter.  Wish me many blessings on these trips.
