Leaving for Memphis Tomorrow

http://www.hugsr.edu/images/hugsr_gates.jpgThe time has come again.  I am leaving out tomorrow to travel to Nashville to pick up a rental car and drive to Memphis.  Why Nashville and not directly to Memphis, well you can fly to Nashville and rent a car for the price of flying direct to Memphis.  Might as well have two for the price of one.  I am going to do another class for the Doctorate of Ministry degree.  This class is called “Research and Ministry” and it teaches you to write a dissertation.  The predominate purpose is to complete the proposal for the project and have it approved.  I will be staying with my friend Joe who is the executive minister for Sycamore View church of Christ.  I really like spending time with him.  On Friday, I am eating supper with my two old interns from Castle Rock in Memphis.  They both go to school at Harding and are driving to meet me.  Probably, I will have to pay for supper than.  On Saturday, I am heading to Waynesboro to watch the Vol’s game with some friends and I will be preaching for the Sunday class services for their gospel meeting.  It will be great to see all of my friends in Waynesboro again.  Charity and I really love those people.  I will be spending the night with the Haggard’s and I will be watching the game with the Skelton clan.  I get warm feelings thinking about driving into town.  Then back to school until thursday, until I fly out at 5:45am.  Yea, early.  The only sad spot I have for this trip is that I will not be eating with my dear friend Burnice Wesbrooks.  No matter what the timetable was in Tennessee, I always ate with my mentor Burnice.  It will not be the same without him on this trip.  I miss him.

As soon as you mentioned flying into Nashville, I knew why. You can also get a plane ticket and rental car out for Little Rock, AR for the same price as Memphis. Enjoy HUGSR and all the other friends you will see in Tennessee.

    Grace and peace,

    Rex
