Matthew, our congregation has a Vision Night once a year which sounds similar. It works wonderfully. I can send you a CD of ours if you are interested.

We did in regards to hiring a new preacher. It boiled up a little bit with emotion as people didn’t like some of what was said. I think if there are certain guidelines established and no one gets on a soap box, it can be good. Some things though are better left to personal discussion with those involved.
