Musings on Spiritual Matters

mainban.jpgIn the August 2007 issue of the Gospel Advocate, I had another article published. The article is called “Generational Conflict.” The theme of the August issue is youth ministry, and the article that I wrote dealt with the conflict between the older generation and the young generation. I hope some of you will check it out. Personally, I consider it a honor to be published in the Advocate. It is a historic publication with a influential voice in the church. I certainly appreciate everyone at the Gospel Advocate for providing a voice for my ministry. I believe in the middle Tennessean area, it is the most well read publication in the church.

It IS an honor to be published in the Advocate. I read your article and I appreciate the attitude of love and deference you ascribed to both generations in order to maintain the bond of unity in the church.
We need more intergenerational exposure in many congregations. One of the elderly ladies in my home congregation wrote to me regularly when I was away at college and it developed into an unexpected friendship that I treasured.

This is the beauty of church, intermingling between the generations. There is very few organizations that provide this blessing.
