This book has been a run away success. Fortunately, I had some time between reading and beach reading, so I had this on the Kindle, and have not read it yet. So I thought, I had a few days, I would read it. I heard great stuff about the book. It was a good book, and it is a needed called to deeper discipleship. On the other hand, it saddened me to see that this is a radical call to discipleship. It is a statement on how bad Christianity has gotten in America. If this book changes people, instead of just reminding them of the duty that God calls us all too, this is not good. Discipleship has become a lack of a priority to the population. It is just another thing on a endless list of things. Satan is really doing a job on people these days. He is conning people well. You do not have to do this or that. And there is always a reason why this is just not fitting into your life. Instead God does not fight to fit into our lives, we fight to fit into His life. The book was good, just not what I expected. Probably, I had too high of expectations. But for me it was a classic popular level text. Rarely do I read these recently. There is just not that much that is new to me. But I liked his focus, and because of the impact of the book, it was needed to be written. It is a good reminder, but maybe no a earth shaking book, that it has been for some people.
