Review of “Decision Points”
As most people know, I cannot vote. I have lifetime legalization in America, since I am a Canadian citizen. But I do find politics interesting. So over the past Christmas season, I took a break from reading theological works for a class to read something a little lighter. Not that this book was light, it dealt with a lot of difficult topics. The book was interesting, and really helped me have more of an appreciate of George W. Bush. One thing for sure, it is not easy being the president of the United States of America. But in the man, Mr. President comes off as a respectful and good man. It might not always have made the right call, but he always wanted to do the right thing. The bringing of the book was good as he talked about overcoming his problem with drinking. This seemed to jump start his life and career. The book is good because it is like a history book with a insider’s perspective. You can retrace history through his eyes. I believe no matter what you think of this man, you will respect him after reading this text. Also, the book helped me see into some issues with a new light. As a uninformed person, I do not always know what is happening behind the scenes. In the case of Katrina, Bush wanted people down there earlier, but there was some in government blocking this. He took a lot of heat, but mostly it was not his fault. He was just following the process. If you like history, I believe you will enjoy this book.
