Musings on Spiritual Matters

Review of “Guiding People Through Conflict”

This was a short little booklet that is condensed from the author’s larger work of “The Peacemaker.”  This little booklet was packed full of useful knowledge concerning the Biblical process for peace.  It dealt with three concepts of helping people process peace.  The first idea was coaching where you function as a support in encouraging people to work through difference.  This was the lowest level for conflict.  Usually people are still operating with good hearts and have the desire to reconciliation.  The next level was mediation where you must bring the parties together.  This stage is at a higher level of conflict and you are helping the people see the other side of the story.  The third level is arbitratration.  This level is the worst.  The people cannot work out their difference and have called in a third party to resolve the fight.  Both parties agree that whatever the result is that they will abide by it.  This booklet provides some great material for preaching and some helpful looks into the verses on conflict within the Bible.
