Review of “How Should We Then Live?”
My friend Greg Tidwell has introduced me to some of Francis Schaeffer’s materials. I have heard of this well known speaker in the past, but never paid much attention to his work. I read recently his book “The Great Evangelical Disaster” which was excellent, and provided a good commentary on some of the compromises on the view of the inspiration of the Bible. The author wrote well that this is a watershed moment. This next book, traces the follow of thought through the centuries of western thought. It has been a while since I read the book, and just never had the chance to review it in depth, but my impressions of it is high. It was highly informative. It answered some of the questions of why people are forsaking the sanctity of life. The author highlights this movement through artwork. You see humanity becoming less of a human. I wish I could remember some more details of the book, but that which remains it that this is one of the most fascinating books that I have ever read. The author blends Biblical thought with art, history, and philosophy. If you have wondered why we are where we are in culture, this book traces the outline of this movement. The book was written numerous years ago, but it really answers and explains the world we life in now. There is so much of this book that is deep and insightful, it is one that should be read again. Much of this decline in society is the move away from Biblical authority. I highly recommend this book for a deep read into the culture of man.

Good review. The DVD series, by the same title, great as well.
