Review of “Searching for Bobby Orr”
The chase for Gold for Canada is beginning soon. This is an important event in the life of a Canadian. Silver is like kissing your mother, and bronze, who cares if we win bronze. It is gold all the way. Hockey is a sport of legends. To be truly great, you must win the international championship for Canada. Sidney Crosby is going to attempt history. He has a MVP and a Stanley Cup ring, but without a gold around his neck, he will never be a legend. My nerves are shot, I am so excited for this event. In preparation for the event, I read this book about one of the truly greats. He is a legend. The book is wonderful and informative. You read about the Stanley cups and the scoring championships. He was not on the ice in 72, but in 76 on his final legs, he delivered the gold for the red and white. Number 4, Bobby Orr. You can still see him flying across the ice after scoring the cup winning goal. Like all moments in Canadian hockey history, it is frozen in time. You know Bobby better after these pages. I saw him at the Winter Classic this year, I still get goosebumps when the old legends come to the ice. There is a myth, a fabric in the Canadian soul for hockey. It runs deep no matter where you live. America can win every other gold, I will even cheer for them, I do not care if Canada wins another medal. But Gold in Hockey is the Goal. Go Canada.
