Musings on Spiritual Matters

Rock Climbing

As most people know that read this blog, I am a big mountain climber.  Often these hikes are walking with some climbing, but not technical climbing.  This is why this winter I plan on developing my skills in rock climbing.  This will help on some of the most difficult 14ers in the state.  Most of the 14ers, you can do which are class four, which means they are really hard, and if you fall, you fall and die, but on the other hand, they are not class five which is pure rock climbing.  So I want to learn more about this, fortunately, there is a guy at church that knows a ton about rock climbing and we are going to the gym next week.  We went rock climbing a couple of weeks ago.  It is pretty fun stuff.  One of the major motivations for learning this to climb the Maroon Peaks, and there is a traverse across these peaks which are class five climbing.  It will be great to do these majestic peaks in Colorado.  You see pictures of the Maroon Bells all over the nation, they are the most pictured mountains in Colorado.  It will be great to stand on top.  Climbing is like ministry, you learn as you go, and you gain more skills with time.
