Summited Mt. Bierstadt Yesterday

http://kayniyo.com/images/wildlife/mt5315_012MtBierstadt.jpgEver since moving to Colorado, I have been dreaming of climbing a fourteener.  I have been working hard to be in shape to do this.  Yesterday was the first attempt on climbing one of the giants of the West.  A bunch of people from church left early in the morning to travel to the trail head of Mount Bierstadt.  It is a mountain with a 14,060 summit and has a 7 mile round trip included.  It took us around 7 hours to accomplish.  There was a ton of snow and mud on the trail.  Mud at the bottom and snow on top.  We summited on 12:45, about 45 minutes past cutoff but the weather was great so it was safe.  It was a hard and long trip.  But I felt alive through the whole time.  God made some beautiful stuff.  We went up about 2850 feet of vertical incline.  The air of there is really thin so you are breathing hard.  It was a great day of feeling on top of the world.  I am looking forward to the next one.
