The Autographed Roar
Yesterday was a easier Sunday. Steve was preaching, so I did not arrive at the building as early as normal. In fact, I drove with the family, which is nice since I usually come to church services alone. The whole family went to class. As I was coming out of class, a couple of the elders mentioned that there was a surprise from one of the members in my office. I thought I pretty much knew what the surprise was, as this member and I made arrangements to go to a hockey game together. I thought the elders were just excited about this, but did not know that we already talked about this trip. Anyway, one of the elders and the member walked into my office. There it was. It was a beautiful picture of Sidney Crosby from frameworth that was autographed. It was a picture of the “roar heard around the world.” This was something I so wanted. I even looked at it before and dreamed of having this moment on my wall. I was so excited that a member would do this for me. It was one of the nicest gifts ever. It is really amazing how much the members love their ministers in Castle Rock. Just when you think there is nothing else that they can do to go way beyond the call of duty, they pull something out and blow me away. The only problem was that the members then decided to hide my new picture and they provided clues to how to get it back. Some gifts are too good to be true so they make you earn them. Fortunately, I found my autographed Crosby picture again and took it home for safe keeping. It is really nice and such a blessing to work with such an amazing congregation. The members and this one particular member really made my day. I am so happy about this beautiful autograph in my home so I can tell everyone and my children about the day that Sidney Crosby put Canada on his back and delivered the Gold to the nation.

Grace and peace,

It was great having you both. I was honored that you both came.
I had to laugh at all the people taking picture with it on Facebook.
