The Beginning of College Football

http://www.westtennrodz.com/TennesseeVols.gifLast night kicked off the college football season.  I watched some of the first game on ESPN and most of the second game.  I was just so excited for the college season.  Even though, College ball is not as big a deal in Colorado as it is in the South, I am still excited for the season.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to get into some of the local teams.  There is the Air Force team, Colorado, and Colorado State.  Colorado Buffalo were once a great team, but mostly these days they are not very good.  I like to pull for a top team that has a chance of going to the national championship game every year as well as a team that pulls in top recruits.  Of course, I was a Nashville Predator’s fan while in Waynesboro, but switched over to cheer for the Avalanche since I am in the Denver region.  But one change I will not make and plan to never make is that I am part of the Vol nation.  I love Vol football.  This year is exciting because of the new coach of Lane Kiffin.  He is causing a lot of attention on the team and I love it.  As for my prediction, the Vols will upset the Gators or Bama this year.  We will be a 9 win team.  I really hope that Bama falls apart because I have a lot of Bama readers, yes, I fellowship everyone.  It is an exciting time.  I will miss going to a Vols game this year with my friend Rex, he always took me every year and was a great host, the best ever.  Here is to another season in the SEC.  Go VOLS.

  1. Matthew says:

    Just beat Bama.

  2. Adam says:

9 wins for Tennessee? You might be breathing just a bit too much of the mountain air!

Seriously, 7 wins would be a GREAT year for the Kiffins (and Florida is going to dismantle the Volunteers because of Lane. It could get ugly.)

Have a great season. At least your in a state of the greatest conference in football (the Big 12)!!! Go ‘Huskers!

  3. Leon Cole says:

Just remember “let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall”. The Vols could “luck up’ and have a winning season but sad to say they don’t have many Western Kentucky’s on their agenda. I’m glad Bama isn’t opening with a cream puff .

  4. Matthew says:

63 points, 63 points, 63 points, and the kiffin era begins. The Vol nation is back!!!!

  5. Leon Cole says:

And they were playing like William and Mary and William stayed at home.

I have been looking forward to your trash talk:) The vols mighty do pretty good. Alabama and Florida will be there for the SEC game. The tide made many mistakes Sat night but showed great strength in all area’s. With their schedule they will do better than just good. I wonder about your logic. You have been talking about logic. You said, “I really hope that Bama falls apart because I have a lot of Bama readers.” Bad logic. I think you opened the window and tossed it out. We will keep reading and we will keep winning and we will keep reminding you that you have a handicap……..You know nothing about football. It is not played with a puck and a stick and it is not played on ice. Paul told the Ephesians, Remember where you came from.” Matthew remember, remember. I love college football especially Alabama football. V tech was good and will be good but Saturday night they were not good enough. Now that is trash talk.
I love your blog and I love where you live, so I guess I love you inspite of your trash talk:)
