Musings on Spiritual Matters

Theology In Ministry Class

13237lgNow that the new year is here, I am kicking it in high gear to get all the work accomplished for the next class in my Doctorate program.  It is hard to believe but this is the second to last class that I have.  I have to take Spiritual Leadership in the fall, and then I will have all the course work finished.  There will still be some elements of the dissertation that I will have to write, but it will be nice to have accomplished this part of the work.  This March I will be in Memphis again (funny I have Mark Parker at my house now for the week, he is working on a class in Denver).  But in this class I am learning to think through a situation in a theological manner.  I have been reading a ton of books so far for this class, and doing some book reviews.  Sometimes I feel I review books all the time.  But at the end of the class, I will be writing a paper on the theology of my dissertation.  Mostly this will deal with the Missio Dei.  It will be about 40 pages, but fortunately, it will also be chapter two for the dissertation.  Mark Powell is teaching me this class, and I have some old friend from the program back with me.  It should be another wonderful time in Memphis.  I really do look forward to coming into town.  I enjoyed the intellectual stimulation and the great fellowship.  Harding Graduate School is a wonderful place to attend.  I have been challenged, developed, and matured during my time there.

  1. Spiritual Leadership is an incredible class – I took it a couple of years ago, and I have found the material realy valuable.
You’ll have to let me know the dates you will be in Memphis. We will probably visit family some time during the month, so maybe we could catch up.

Glad to hear everything is going well – say hey to Mark for me!

  2. Matthew says:

Andrew, I got to meet your friends from Tri Lakes. Great couple. Also, I did tell Mark you said hello. I will be there from March 3 to 10. Would love to get together with you.
