Musings on Spiritual Matters

Waiting on Travel

This long process of adoption is coming to an end soon.  Asher is officially ours, and we are suppose to go to China and get him at the end of July, perhaps early August.  Sooner the better for us.  There is a ton of paperwork to do for this adoption, and it never seems to end.  You finish one section and then there is always some more.  Fortunately, Charity has handled the majority of this, well most of it.  We are happy to have heard that he was moved from a orphanage to a foster home.  This is great news as it helps the child develop and bond.  It will be harder on him to leave his foster family, but typically it helps a child to bond with the new parents.  He is also healthy and doing well.  We got a report on him a little back, and he is growing and developing at a great pace.  It is still a little hard to believe, but we have been praying that God would provide for him, and God certainly has.  He also had a cliff lip and palate, and without us knowing it, they did surgery on him.  He is mostly fixed up, but probably will have a ton of dental work that needs done.  So we are just waiting on the travel dates.  We are mostly ready as God has been good to us.  So please be praying for us and Asher as we make this journey soon.

Whereabouts in China is he? My daughter spent a month in Tianjin on school exchange in Dec.

    Wendy,

I am not sure yet where we are flying into, but we are going to a few places while in China.
