Early in the Spring, while in Columbia, a freshly minted 16 year old drive on his first week, hit me in the bumper. It was a simple accident, it was one of those look and see turns, no lights or signs, just experience guiding the way. But when I was guiding, he was driving his foot into the gas. A rookie mistake. But instead of going through insurance, because I knew this would cost a fortunate for this young man, I told him we could handle the hole in the bumper off record. He was good to his promise, and he (through his father) sent me 440 dollars after I received some quotes. But really, my car is worth maybe two thousand, and once the money was received it was hard to let go of it. Since the car broke down recently, I was looking for options to fix it cheaper. Finally, my great secretary came up was a super solution. A BUMPER STICKER. Perfect, for $1.99 instead of $2.99, could not pull the switch on the expensive sticker, I solved the problem. In the long run, everyone should be happy. I saved the boy thousands of dollars in insurance, and helped pay for needed repairs on the car. I love win-win.
